GLP-1 Discernment

What you will learn

I started this course with a clear intention – to peel back the layers surrounding metabolic health and the deceptive spin about incretin drugs as they relate to weight management. The foundation of anatomy and physiology builds a pathway to understanding metabolism from the ground up.

This webinar unravels the most important layers of metabolic health and in the process, reveals the natural wonders of the body systems. It will provide you with a wealth of insights, focusing on GLP-1, a key player in our metabolic symphony.

Drug dependency has become the norm in healthcare today, despite the fact most chronic health issues are better managed and treated without drugs (which often even compound the problem). This webinar shares a nutrient focused, drug-free approach to supporting organ and systems physiology, the real key to lasting health.

You'll walk through the intricacies of how the GLP-1 hormone and others influence blood sugar, appetite, and weight management, shedding light on their role as potential root causes of metabolic dysfunction, especially when diet and lifestyle are askew- root causes that have always been in full view.

Importantly, the field of nutrition is not the same as it was forty years ago. We have a far better grasp of the “grey” areas that support effective weight management, particularly as they relate to the relatively newest player in metabolic health- the gut microbiome.

Despite the advances of big pharma, nutrition science has also advanced and I believe is actually outpacing drugs, at least in terms of efficacy. The inconvenient truth to the drug industry is that the ultimate tools to safely support the gut microbiome is diet and lifestyle. This is irrefutable. Now, just to educate and support people in making the necessary changes and to make them sustainable.

You'll be equipped with a toolkit of strategies to optimize and leverage the power of naturally produced GLP-1 and other hormonal allies.

Never lose sight of how interconnected your body systems truly are. By the end of the webinar, you'll not only grasp the 'whys' behind your metabolic health, but also empower yourself with the 'hows' to nurture it without medications.

Goodbye to band-aid solutions. It's time to foster a newfound appreciation for your body's inherent intelligence. Your body was designed to be metabolically healthy.

Happy Learning!

Meet Cindy

I am a registered nurse and also a registered dietitian. Since 2017, I took a side route in my forty year career to embrace a concept that I have always held dear--that anatomy and physiology reigns supreme in the field of nutrition. Who knew?! This led me to develop a number of online Nutrition and Systems Biology courses to help nutrition health professionals foster a more holistic approach to nutrition care, while reacquainting themselves with valuable intricacies of systems physiology. No surprise, in every system of my courses, we talk about metabolic health. There is no separating any one body system's health from overall metabolic health.

Although I practice as a more functional and integrated minded practitioner and challenge conventional thinking, ultimately, all practice becomes a balance of safety and efficacy. And one size does not fit all. I am as much a student as I am an teacher, continually learning and evolving alongside those I educate. I welcome you onboard my nutrition and systems biology train.
